AKOLA EDUCATION SOCIETY, {AES} AKOLA.
Trust Registration No: F-61 under the BPT. Act 1950.

AKOLA EDUCATION SOCIETY {AES} is a leading academic institution of the
Vidarbha region of the state of Maharashtra, with a history of over
eighty years of commitment to the cause of education. Driven by the
concept of the values of life and social good, the society provides
everything in education that the parents would want for their children.

AES was founded on the auspicious day of Tilak Jayanti on the 23rd July
1927 with the late Rao Bahadur Ramchandra Vishnu Mahajani as the founder
President. The same day was inaugurated New English High School {NESH}
Akola, followed by Murtizapur High School {Mtz. H.S.} Murtizapur in
1936.

What was just a sapling in 1927, flourished in due course of time into a
sprawling Banyan tree, having multiple branches e.g. faculties of Arts,
Science, Commerce, and MCVC junior college of NESH, Jubilee English
K.G., Primary, High School and junior College, Akola Jijaoo Kanya
Vidyalaya, Platinum Jubilee English High School, Kharap, Jubilee English
{CBSE} High School, Kumbhari, Jubilee English Primary School,
Murtizapur, with over 5000 learners ranging from K.G. to P.G. These
institutions carved a niche in the field of education by producing
students of high caliber and merit.
AES celebrated Platinum Jubilee in 2002. As a mark of celebration and to
commemorate the event, it was resolved to venture into the field of
university education by setting up the Akola Law College, {ALC}
providing Five -Year law course; Set up in 2004 the college now has
facility to teach in post-graduate studies i.e. LL.M. from 2009.


Scope of Activities

With a view to realizing the vision and goal of AES, the Society among others, undertakes the following activities:
1) To promote essential facilities of education such as teacher's training, research, extension services.
2) To promote discipline, spirit of intellectual enquiry, secularism, social justice, national integration and preservation of cultural heritage.
3) To provide essential facilities of education by setting up laboratories, libraries, hostel, gymkhana, printing presses, for publication of books, news-bulletin, journals, etc.
4) To organize academic conferences, seminars, workshops etc for, extending benefits of knowledge and skills by associating closely with the local and regional problems of development.
5) To co-operate and collaborate with the Govt. and the university and other institutes engaged in similar pursuits for promoting and advancing the cause of education.

Authorities of AES

The authorities of the AES are:
1) General Body 2) Governing Body.
The General Body consists of three types of Members Viz: Donors (contributing
Rs. 100000/- or more) Patrons (contributing Rs. 50,000/- or more) and Life Members (contributing Rs. 3,000/-) and admitted to the membership by Governing Body of the Society.
There is a ceiling on the total membership of the society. It shall not exceed the number of 45.

1927: New English High School was established

1936: Murtizapur High School, Murtizapur.

1948: Construction of Building for NEHS foundation of Jr. College MCVC.

1978: Jubilee English K.G., Primary & High School to commemorate the Golden of the society.

1983: Jubilee English School, Murtizapur to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Murtizapur High School.

1992: Marathi Primary School was set up and named "Vandemataram" to co-memorate the Golden Jubilee of Gandhiji's ' Quit Indian' movement.

1997: Establishment of Girls School named after 'Jijaoo' inspired her son. Chhatrapati Shivaji the founder Marathi Swaraj to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Indian Independence.

 

2002: Celebration of Platinum Jubilee
of the society and NEHS. Publication of 'AMRUTANUBHAV' a souvenir to
co-memorate the event.

 

 

2004: Establishment of Akola Law College

2004: G. D. Platinum Jubilee K.G. & Primary School, Kharap.

2006: Launching of Jubilee High School {CBSE Course} Kumbhari

2009: Setting up the Post Graduate Deptt., of Law i.e. LL. M.

2009: Launching of Platinum Jubilee High School, Kharap.

Co-curricular Activities: On Campus Facilities

1) Foundation Day celebrations every year on the 23rd July, i.e. Tilak Jayanti.
2) The Teacher's Day on 5th September, is celebrated every year, by the Society, on which Teachers are felicitated for their academic excellence, and achievement in cultural, social and academic fields.
3) Every year a concert is organized by the society for the teaching and non-teaching members of the staff to exhibit their skill in dance, drama, music and other arts like painting, sculpture etc.
4) The society has provided special facility for Basket-Ball by constructing a ground of national standard for promoting the game, whereby there have been students representing the society's schools at National level.
5) Table-Tennis is another game where the incentive provided by the society brought positive results. The team is the state level champion and a number of students represent the state at the national level.
6) Every school has been provided with a programme-hall, 35' X 70' in size besides an open-air stage which is common for all.
7) An independent faculty known as "Genius' Computer to impart computer literacy to students from K. G. to St. IV, of all schools; headed by Prof. Kishor Butole.
8) Internet, fax, website.
9) Pre-examination guidance center for those preparing for PET, PMT, Olympiad in Maths, Physics etc.
10) Students' Co-Op Consumer store.
11) Modular Employability scheme, sponsored by the GOI is implemented by the society. It is manned and managed by the Dept. of M. C. V. C. and headed by Prof. Kishor Butole.
 

 

Mission

The Management of the AES, consisting mainly of teacher has it own cult, culture and ethos. AES pledges to develop the affiliated institution to provide an apt model of education of national level, in tune with the fast-paced globalization and growing challenges in future.

The motto of AES is inspired by the teaching of the Geeta, {one who is engaged in performing one's rightful duty, shall attain enlightenment.}

To diffuse literary scientific and physical education learning from K.G. to P.G. students in Maharashtra, by opening centers of learning at suitable place.
